Her started their journey on 1984 as a joint venture between Hero Cycles of India and Honda Japan with the name Hero Honda. When Honda of Japan decided to split out from joint venture. Hero bought rest of the shares from Honda. In 2011 they renamed themselves as Hero MotoCorp.
